The June 20, 2018 edition of the Jasonville Independent included much local news!  Obituary: Clifford Dale Smith, 89.

UPDATE: Death Notice: Clifford Dale Smith, 89, of Florida, and formerly of Jasonville, Indiana, passed away March 26, 2018 in Sebastian, Florida.  Services entrusted to Cox Funeral Home in Jasonville, Indiana.  Cremation was chosen.  A Gathering of Friends is scheduled from 10 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the funeral home.  Memorial Services will immediately follow with Father Jeff Read officiating.  Interment will be at Peavey Cemetery in Howesville, Indiana, with Military Graveside Rites.  

UPDATE: Death Notice:  Tom Stefanski, 92, of Terre Haute, Indiana, and formerly of Jasonville, passed away on June 19, 2018 at Shakamak Good Samaritan in Jasonville.  Visitation for Tom will be Sunday, June 24, from 4-8 p.m. at DeBaun Springhill Chapel with Rosary Service starting at 7 p.m.   Funeral Mass will be held at 12:05 p.m., Monday, June 25, at St. Benedicts Church in Terre Haute.  Burial will follow at  K of P Cemetery in Hymera, Indiana.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Indian School, Chamberlin, South Dakota, 57326, or the St.Ann's Free Clinic, 1436 Locust Street, Terre Haute, IN 47807.  Online condolences may be left at DeBaunFuneralHomes. com.

The beauty of Shakamak State Park.  This is Lake Kickapoo,one of 3 lakes in the park.  The park is located a mile or so from Jasonville, and has around 300,000 visitors each year.
